The Crocodile Rock Cafe

So tonight was the Out of Reach show along with Saosin, The Bled, Meriwether and Armor for Sleep.

We got there around three something PM. We sat in the cafe for a little bit, then we figured out we could play in the bar area or the basement with a stage an all. We chose the basement(naturally).

We were the 2nd band to go on. We had roughly 20 minutes to get on play and get off. We only got to play 3 songs.

Still though, it was a great set.

From there we started watching the main show. Meriwether was first. I caught about 2 of their songs. I enjoyed what I heard. After them was The Bled. They had a great set. I was impressed.

From there me and the guitarist chris were standing off to the side. Out of everyones way, but not according to Big Ol' Bouncer. I don't know his name, but he was giving Chris a hard time. So from there I kinda got involved. Words were exchanged. Nothing bad though, however I felt like removing myself from that situation.

So from there I walked back downstairs and was chilling there for a bit. Chris joined up with me same with a few other friends. Then who is this who comes strolling into the basement? Big Ol' Bouncer. He comes up to me and from there starts to talk to me. He tried to explain he was just doing his job. Which I guess he thinks because I am younger then him I don't know whats going on. I know its his job. Not a problem. That is why I removed myself. From there we were just talking for a few more moments and he mentioned how kids in my situation would probabbly go home and start talking shit on him on the net. However I am not one to do that. I know the man was just doing his job, but seeing how he mentioned kids going on the net talking shit. I decided to mention our encounter tonight. I also wanted to say that he was very nice and polite when he came up to me and talked to me after I left our area where we had the little encounter.

Needless to say, next time I am ever at the Croc Rock, I hope he is there so I can say hi.

And hopefully the next time that Out of Reach is playing Croc Rock we will be on the main stage. Ha ha.

Mac vs PC commercials done with Halo

I found these two videos on YouTube.
Sure enough they got me laughing.

50th Anniversary of the Lego Brick.

Ah. Congratulations Lego on 50 years. I remember playing with Lego's when I was younger. Anyway I was reminded of this via Google. So thank you Lego for the memories and thanks Google for the reminder.

Now this is a useful idea/invention.

Have you ever been in a situation that you needed a fork, a spoon or a knife. However the only thing you have on you is a pen?

well todays your lucky day with these Pen-Cap Utensils:

Now I want to make note that I am not the one who came up with this idea. I just happened to find this image on the net, so I figured I would share it.

If you dislike a band. You only need to voice your opinion ONCE!

So Carmen, Mike Derr and Dave (former friends of mine) were all talking shit on Saosin.....and this is the story behind it.

I am not a fan of them. Just someone who hates opinions from morons.

So anyway, they kept talking shit. So I removed them (mike and carmen, Dave is smart enough to keep his mouth shut...well at least so far) from my "friends" list.
Mike continued to talk shit on me and my band. I put my fucking life into my music, its one thing besides an illegal plant that makes me a happy person. Anyway, because I got so heated I decided Mike needs to learn to shut the fuck up and get some manners. I had all intentions of going to his house to beat the shit out of him. I showed up right after my shift at work was done (8 o'clock). He however was nowhere to be found and I'm the pussy....funny. Anyway here is my original message I sent to the Out of Reach myspace.

----------------- Original Message -----------------
From: Kyle Mac
Date: Jan 23, 2008 6:27 PM

" well kyle mac, lets just say this, saosin is as gay as them cum farters on twinksonguys.com and if u dont like them who gives a fuck? i didnt know i would be a pussy for not listening to guys that look like girls cry about girls breaking up with them.... its just an opinion just like urs. and another opinion i got.... lets just say that if anthony would quit ur band, u guys should rename ur band Out Of Reach Of Talent... go blow the dude from fall out boy so u can cry on stage with him about his cuts on his wrist cuz his boyfriend dumped him. metal is not described as just pig squels and insane riffs that all ur talentless emo bands cant comprehend, its also a sound of godsent. the bible doesnt like fags, and niether do we. so im sure god would disagree with ur heroes blowing eachother on the tour bus, and side with us crazy metal heads. off topic now, but i must say emo is not the thing, its fucking gay and u ppl wouldnt know what a good band is if the singer cock slapped u in the face. not like saosin didnt do that already, but they suck. nuff said! DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!"

This is from a "friend" of mine. Mike Derr.
Think I need to teach this pussy some manners.

And this is the reply I got:

"Well, he needs to know this. I'm a big fan of Saosin and I know that they are not emo at all. They do not sing about girls breaking up with them or cutting their wrists, or anything else like that unlike Hawthorne Heights. Does Mike think that we're emo because we're not. Maybe when Drew was in our band we were because of his lyrics being "Your life is nothing but a joke, go hang yourself with nylon rope, so it won't break your fall again, and force me to use my bare hands." With Anthony we are nowhere near being emo. Plus why does he care so much if Saosin is emo or not. It's not like we're forcing him to go to our show or even listen to Saosin. That's just one guys opionion so no one cares. Just because someone can play super fast riffs does not mean that it automatically makes it good. Most people who play metal probably don't even know anything about harmony or anything else about music. By the way is Mike even in a band?"

So sure enough, Mike isn't in a band. So this kid really doesn't have much credability going for him, except that hes a moron.

Just found this.

This little top 10 reasons to believe logic over religion is a good one.

I agree with a lot of the reasons.
So have a look:

Hello, Scientology. We are Anonymous.

So I found this video off digg.com:

It's enjoyable. However, not for those who believe in scientology. Anyway with the crazies aside, watch the video. Also the following text is taken from the youtube page, so you can read basically what they said. If you don't have speakers.

"Hello, Scientology. We are Anonymous.

Over the years, we have been watching you. Your campaigns of misinformation; suppression of dissent; your litigious nature, all of these things have caught our eye. With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into mainstream circulation, the extent of your malign influence over those who trust you, who call you leader, has been made clear to us. Anonymous has therefore decided that your organization should be destroyed. For the good of your followers, for the good of mankind--for the laughs--we shall expel you from the Internet and systematically dismantle the Church of Scientology in its present form. We acknowledge you as a serious opponent, and we are prepared for a long, long campaign. You will not prevail forever against the angry masses of the body politic. Your methods, hypocrisy, and the artlessness of your organization have sounded its death knell.

You cannot hide; we are everywhere.

We cannot die; we are forever. We're getting bigger every day--and solely by the force of our ideas, malicious and hostile as they often are. If you want another name for your opponent, then call us Legion, for we are many.

Yet for all that we are not as monstrous as you are; still our methods are a parallel to your own. Doubtless you will use the Anon's actions as an example of the persecution you have so long warned your followers would come; this is acceptable. In fact, it is encouraged. We are your SPs.

Gradually as we merge our pulse with that of your "Church", the suppression of your followers will become increasingly difficult to maintain. Believers will wake, and see that salvation has no price. They will know that the stress, the frustration that they feel is not something that may be blamed upon Anonymous. No--they will see that it stems from a source far closer to each. Yes, we are SPs. But the sum of suppression we could ever muster is eclipsed by that of the RTC.

Knowledge is free.

We are Anonymous.

We are Legion.

We do not forgive.

WE DO NOT FORGET."

oh Oh oh Oh uh oh, Its like music to my ears....

Tonight was another successful Out of Reach show. We played at Finn McCool's Tavern. It was a pretty cool venue.

The show was good, we had terrific sound. The vocals could of been up a little higher in my own opinion. My performance however wasn't too up to my standards. I have been pretty exhausted today. My friend and I were hanging out last night. Me and him chilled at his house. I checked out Assassins Creed for Xbox 360. Fantastic. After that we played some Gears of War and just chilled out. We wound up taking a walk on the country club by his area and it was nice, except for the cold.

Once we retreated back to his house we continued with our night. We had a spectacular conversation for most of the night. We attempted to play chess. Which was fun because we kept straying from the game and kept talking. From there we decided to try to get some rest. I went into his spare room and laid down on the bed. No more then 5 minutes past and my friend came into the room and startled me. We then went back into the room because he couldn't sleep. So I stayed up with him and we watched Army of Darkness. It was an awesome movie. It had me laughing and kept my interest. It had a pretty cool story line behind it too.

Pirates will never die!

The Pirates Can't Be Stopped

This was a fantastic article about Pirates and the companies against them. MediaDefender is one of the bigger names, they also aren't the only enemies of the online pirate community. The R.I.A.A. and the M.P.A.A. are also two groups who are trying to take down "file sharing."

The thing I really don't seem to understand is that the whole idea behind this is "file sharing." Since when the fuck was it wrong to share something? Yes you might not know who you are sharing your download of The Transformers (2007) movie with, but thats not the point. The point this is a free service for all. Also the fact that most people don't wanna go out and buy a CD of an artist/band they like cause they only know one song off it. I know I wouldn't wanna spend 14+ bucks on a CD when I only know maybe one track. Also the fact that once you download something, if you like it you might be more inclined to buy it once you have the sufficient funds.

Well I am kinda getting off track here. My main problem is that there is all this legislation for putting these people in jail, when they are non-violent offenders. They aren't really harming anyone. Also if you try to argue that the bands/artists/film makers deserve their money for their work....well no. They are way too over paid to being with. Also the fact that bands hardly make any money to begin with. The record companies really fuck over bands. Also not to mention I am in a band.

Once we release our EP, you better believe that I will be burning copies for my friends for free. Unless they decide they would like to help us our and buy it for 5 bucks. However if the CD is uploaded to say a website like thepiratebay.org....Even better! I would be so happy to find out people are uploading and downloading my bands music. That means its getting out there and more people are hearing about it. Job well done in my book.

But yeah Fuck the R.I.A.A., M.P.A.A. and MediaDefender. These guys are committing the real crimes.

What I like to call. Owned.

So last night, I wound up leaving my house around 12 something (midnight). I came home around 4 something and I as usual walked to my room. Turned on my monitor and was ready to see my computer exactly how I left it.

Well almost immediately I noticed I was missing a tab on firefox. No big deal, I probabbly accidentally Xed out of the window. Well sure enough, wrong. My younger sister came into my room and logged onto myspace from my computer. I know this because she didn't log out. She isnt a bright one when it comes to covering her tracks. But this means she woke up during the middle of the night walked into my dark room. Walked to my computer and turned on the monitor to see if my computer was unlocked.

Well I have a big thing about people touching my shit without my permission. So as soon as I saw her logged in, I walked into her room. Woke her up (remember this is close to 5 in the morning and she has to wake up soon for school) so I told her not to touch my computer. Then I went back and had some fun...Here is a picture of what I did: (if you cant see the whole thing, click to enlarge)
Photobucket

I changed her display name, Status/Mood and posted a bulliten under her myspace about the events of last night.

A Post To Start It Off....

Well for some time I have been interested in the world of blogging. I have set up other "blogs"
however they came with other services. Mainly Myspace and StumbleUpon. I use them somewhat regularly, however I wouldn't mind having one dedicated blog that I maintain. The problem is, what do I write about?

Seeing how I am into music I guess I should review CD's, Bands and concerts.
But thats not what everyone might want. The ultimate power behind this blog is mine. I can choose what I want to say, what messages I want people to hear. This blog allows me to have a voice on the internet.

So I guess this blog will just be a little documentation project of mine. Things I see, People I encounter, Ideas I come up with, Books I have read, Websites I have loved. Things I dislike. Well I am excited to get this blog up and running. I am not looking to make money off this, but maybe a have a few readers out there who like what they read. If so then a job well done in my book.Well, so long for now.
